Volunteer Opportunities

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the Girls Are Powerful Day Event! Please review these available opportunities below and let us know how you would like to get involved by completing the volunteer interest form.

VOLUNTEER opportunity 1

PASSPORT SESSION FACILITATORS

The Session Facilitator will facilitate the event learning activities. Engage and support participants through these learning activities including giving instructions, answering questions and preparing them for big group share out. As well as performs other duties and responsibilities as needed and assigned.

Depending on registration numbers the participants will be separated into age-appropriate groupings:

TIME COMMITMENT
  • Pre-event event calls

  • Minimum 1-5 hours event commitment – depending on the number of sessions being facilitated.

VOLUNTEER opportunity 2

ARTISTIC EXPRESSION FACILITATORS

We are looking for facilitators to lend their expertise in specific art forms and guide the girls through our Inspiration Station session in which they will be asked to work both independently and collectively to create a larger share-out about the selected artistic area.

ROLE

As part of this session, participants will be registered for a session of their choice. We will be asking them to select a 1st and 2nd choice. Based on this, event sessions will be finalized around early May. 

We would like you to lead a session in your area of expertise (yoga/meditation, dance, arts, yoga, meditation, and/or mindfulness, creative writing, poetry, spoken word, and/or song) tailored to the travel theme destination of your session.

TIME COMMITMENT
  • Pre-event event calls

  • Minimum 2-4 hours event commitment – depending on the number of sessions being facilitated.

VOLUNTEER opportunity 3

BREAKOUT ROOM MONITORS

We are looking for facilitators to lend their expertise in specific art forms and guide the girls through sessions in which they will be asked to work both independently and collectively to create a larger share-out.

Expectations

  • Familiarize yourself with the GRP mission
  • Coordinate behind the scenes needs for your facilitator
  • Monitor the chat, chime in as support for your facilitator
  • Keep track of time for the facilitator, etc.
TIME COMMITMENT
  • 1-hour initial zoom training
  • Dress rehearsal
  • Half-day event
 VOLUNTEER opportunity 4

“WHAT POWER DO YOU PACK” VIDEO MESSENGERS 

We are looking for individuals to share a special video message about their Passport to Power. This message will be shown to the Girls Are Powerful Day participants as part of the Packing Your Power session and serve as a point of inspiration. See the example below from last year’s event!
